Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting – The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree 2016 located at Rockefeller Center on 49th St between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, will be lit for the holiday season starting Wednesday, November 30 at 7pm through January 7. Fair warning – the closer it is to Christmas the busier this tourist spot gets.  I recommend going on a weekday as early in the season as possible. The Christmas sights in and around Rockefeller Center are spectacular but the crowds can get overwhelming and the sea of people walking can get borderline chaotic and maybe a bit dangerous. The best way to get there is by public transportation. You can get there by taking the B, D, F, M to 47th-50th Sts-Rockefeller Center. Last year we drove and it was not fun! Take my advice take the train! Cost $0 – there is no cost to view and take pictures.

Winter Village at Bryant Park – Bryant Park Winter Village 2016 is a must see. with its 17,000-square-foot ice-skating rink and over 125 shopping kiosks and food vendors open for business. The holiday market opens its doors starting Saturday, October 29. The Holiday Shops will be selling seasonal gifts through January 2, 2017. The Rink and Public Fair will run through March 5, 2017. Free ice-skating on Bryant Park’s 17,000-square-foot outdoor rink (you may bring your own skates or rent for $20). This is located at 41 W 40th St between Sixth and Fifth Avenues.

This show has something for everyone- a flying Santa, a nativity scene and 3-D glasses. And don’t forget about the Rockettes in Wooden Soldier costumes and kick lines!  The Radio City Christmas Spectacular takes place from November 11, 2016 through January 2, 2017 at Radio City Music Hall. The best way to get there is by public transportation take the B, D, F or M to 47th-50th/Rockefeller Center, or the 1 to 50th St/Broadway. Make sure to purchase your tickets early! Tickets range from $49 for 3rd mezzanine seats to $250 for orchestra seats.

Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Gardens

Taste of Home Gingerbread Boulevard
