Hey all! Welcome back to my blog.  Recently I have been experimenting and exploring different crafts with my four year old son. I want to share with you what we have done so far. These crafts are super easy, so easy that your child will need minimal help.

2 Ingredient dough –

For this craft you will need the following ingredients-

Hair conditioner (any kind)

Cornstarch

Optional – food coloring

This craft has a great scent due to the hair conditioner. Both of these items you can find easily at home. We used a plastic bowl and spoon to mix the conditioner and cornstarch.  I didn’t really measure any of the ingredients out. I let my son squeeze the conditioner bottle until he felt we had a good amount of conditioner. We then added cornstarch one tablespoon at a time until he got the consistency that he felt was right. We did add food coloring. If you decide to add color make sure you add it to the conditioner before you mix in the cornstarch. After the mixing mold your dough into a ball and you are all done! Your child can knead and mold it as he pleases!

Recycled Crayons

For this craft you will need:

Crayons

Silicone mold

Do you have old broken crayons just lying around the house? Don’t know what to do with them? And you would hate to just throw them out? Try this recycling craft. Take the broken crayons and remove the paper wrapper. Then you want to place the broken pieces in a silicone tray. I had one with butterflies and small flowers so that is what we used. You can use any silicone mold you have.

We put these in our oven for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. The crayons melted and then we took them out of the oven and let them cool down completely. We then popped them out of the mold. My son loved this craft because he was able to do most of the prep, the only thing I did was put the mold into the oven and take it out.

DIY Slime

You will need:

glue (white or clear glue will work)

food coloring

baking soda (Arm & Hammer)

contact lens solution

Optional – Glitter

You will need at plastic bowl and mixing utensil (larger plastic spoon). We added the glue to the bowl and then added the food coloring.  Once it was mixed will we added glitter. Next we added the baking soda (we did not measure the ingredients out) and mixed well. Lastly we added the contact lens solution.  The contact lens solution really makes the slime take shape. We added the solution according to the appearance of the slime.
